I realize that football season is almost over now. Craig has been doing great and loving every second of it. He is now captain of the defense and was MVP of the game two games ago. They have won all their games and the championships start next week...it has been fun to watch Craig learn and get excited about this...next he says he is playing basketball this year.

Motorcyle accident....

RILEY

COBEY

CRAIG

Craig was riding this weekend with his friends, Christoffersen's, having a great time like they always do. They were riding out at Graveyard point. Some older boys came and started racing everywhere instead of following along. The younger boys were just leaving to go to a different track to get out of there way(good choice boys:)!!) As they were leaving Craig and one of the older riders collided in a sideways(T-Bone) crash. Craig got the brunt of it of course but was a really great sport. In fact he pleaded with Jodie not to call me because he didn't want to come home, of course. He has been hobbling around, won't take crutches to school, he is not a boy that likes attention from anyone!! He is doing fine and luckily for motorcycle boots!! the buckle on the boot broke even. He would have broke it for sure if he hadn't had those boots on. He is raring to get back out there and ride...begging to go this weekend but I think he will take at least one weekend off...boys boys boys...I love it!!!!

Craig is doing a GREAT job with scouts and with everything that he is doing. He really excells in things. He wants to get all the badges he can in scouts. We do a lot of things during family home evening so that is pretty cool...I think his favorite thing to do is give the lessons...he is a great kid. We are proud of you Craig!!!!

Boys...Boys...Boys

I was working in the field yesterday planting bulbs when I got a call from the school nurse telling me that Craig had gotten a pretty good gash in the back of his head and would need staples because it was horizontal. I was super dirty so I called grandma and she and Corey went to get Craig. Jack called the Walmart Doc in the Box to see if they did staples...they only did stitches. They told him it would be $175 at the least. Wow!! When he got home he was more upset about having to go to the doctor than the cut itself...He did not want staples or stitches. Well, having great experience with butterfly bandaids(remember Coreys gash on the forhead that looks pretty good now) we decided to give it a try. Clint was not around but I decided to try it. Luckily we had just cut his hair Sunday morning!!! The gash was pretty wide and i wasn't sure the butterflys would stick but they did great and we are pretty proud of it!! I think it looks like it will be great and Craig was more than relieved to not go to the doctor.(so was Dads wallet)
Eveyone had a million questions about how it happend, espcially Heather with her question after question...well...he fell backwards on a football sled and hit his head that cut it open...once again...stock your homes with butterfly bandaids!!!!
I totally forgot to take a picture when the cut was wide open. I was so MAD!! I should be better :) just kidding...Craig wasn't really ready for photo opp :)

Craigs first real football game...

Craigs first game was Wednesday night. The team did GREAT and one not letting the other team score. Craig played quite a bit and even played on the front line going up against some HUGE guys. When I asked him if he was scared he said a little but then it was FUN!!! He didnt back down on any of them and pushed back the whole time. It was great to watch. Jack and Kristina came and watched the game with us which was really exciting for Craig.

Criags first football game

Saturday morning bright and early we had to be at the Caldwell High School at 8:00. Craig had gone out toilet papering with Riley and his friends and then spent the night at his house Friday night. Jody was totally brave to attempt this. They were there at their game with bells and whistles and played like champs. Craig was totally nervous about playing but once it started found out that it was no sweat..next time he wont have the butterflys...hopefully...they won the game and truly the team played great. Clint got to work the chain with Mark...a good friend of his since childhood...so that was great. Mark has a son on the team too. They had a great time and did a great job.:) Craigs games will all be on Wednesday night from now on so that will be interesting for me but we will work it out somehow. It is only for a short while and he is loving every minute of it!!!!

School is almost out so that meas field day. I barely made it down to Craigs field day so I just have pictures of the end of it. We are crazy in the flowers but went down for an hour to be with Craig. He and three other boys came in first place in the 400 relay. They were really excited. Then he came in fourth in his class for the 400 meter. Maybe a future track star....Heather was also there as the eighth graders were bused over to help out.

Craigs School Concert

Craig had a concert Thursday night. It was really good and with much coaxing he really had a great time once he got there...actually Mrs.Silva takes care of the bribing..she can get that boy to do amazing things...she is the best teacher. Mr. Savell is his music teacher and has done some fabulous things with music this year. Craig has really enjoyed him. They even played 4 0r 5 songs on the recorder...amazing and it sounded pretty dang good.:) Great Job Craig!!!

Craig is the one in the back row by the little window...orange with blue strip shirt. The glare makes it kinda hard to see. :)

Making Noodles!!!

Ok so today I got this bright ideas that it was a soup day, so I decided to make homemade chicken noodle soup. It all was perfectly fine until the kids got home from school and I started making the noodles. :) By the way I also made cinamon rolls, ya don't ask me why...I was feeling very domestic I guess...so in between tractor driving and peonie work I was making bread and stuff. It is amazing how much I get done when I stay busy constantly. So I started making the noodles and the kid joined in the fun by helping....it all started out well...until Craig decided to through the dough like pizza...so Amber had to try and one thing lead to another and there was dough everywhere and on everyone. We were laughing so hard...Craig got dough in his nose and Amber tried to get dough in everyones nose!!! Good Times for sure. Needless to say...we didn't have homemade noodles...but the soup was still great!!

Gophers, Gophers, Gophers!!!!

As you can see he has a little helper...dressed for every occasion!!! :)

Craig has decided to earn money this year by catching gophers. He is doing a really great job and has caught 10 or so already. He sets the trap, cuts the tail off when he gets one and everything that goes with it. He already has a plan for the money he earns...money burns a hole in his pocket pretty fast. I HATE gophers as probably everyone does so I am happy he is taking care of them and so is Grandma :)

Pine Wood Derby

This is Craigs second Pine Wood Derby and proved to be a great one. He did a great job and cam in first place this year...last year he was second place. I am not sure who was more excited Clint or Craig....actually yes it was Clint!!! Craig did help a lot this year with the car, doing the sanding and some of the painting and doing all the decals. He loved his car this year as it was a John Deere car...he said that is why it won...NOTHING RUNS LIKE A DEERE!!!! :)

Craig also received his Bear award. We are very proud of him.. He received his Wolf at last years Pine Wood Derby. He cannot be a Webloe until July so we will just work on arrows till then...he sould not be more excited..the more patches for me to sew on the happier. I am glad that he scouting and I hope he keeps it up. We are proud of you Craig!!!!! Thanks Dad to for all your sweat and tears...we know it couldn't be done without you. :)
